About

I’m an engineering manager in the data domain, with a focus on behavioural data, tracking, and privacy. I like leading and developing engineering teams to solve user problems.

Back in the day, I worked in elections on both sides of the pond, raised a tonne of money for my favourite political party, and done my share of (crisis) comms, marketing and engineering-adjacent teams.

August 2024 - Present

September 2020 - July 2024

I am the data product owner at Charlotte Tilbury with a focus on product analytics and martech. I lead a multi-disciplinary squad of engineers and analysts to define, build and ship data products for a wide variety of stakeholders, including product, performance marketing, CRM and customer insights.

My highlight has been migrating away from Google Analytics to Snowplow, a headless open-source analytics platform, to measure product performance and customer behaviour.

I mainly work on Google Cloud Platform and use BigQuery, Dataform (similar to dbt), Looker, Snowplow and Appsflyer.

December 2019 - September 2020

At Cancer Research I refactored their tracking and martech data stack to improve the performance and realibility of their data collection. I also rolled out OneTrust across their digital estate to comply with privacy regulations.

2016 - 2019

  • Managed email marketing process and comms grid.
  • Built a mini data warehouse and my first ELT processes to standardise diversity monitoring across the organisation on SQL Server.
  • Managed data collection standardisation and privacy across the business.

2016, Digital Engagement Manager

  • Wrote, built and deployed email marketing campaigns across multiple elections and referendums.
  • Overall, won a few elections but lost the big ones - take from that what you will.

2015 - 2016, Email Campaigns Manager

  • Developed the email marketing channel into a significant revenue stream for the party’s election efforts.
